But a Memory advertises various categories of horses, but our passion and ultimate goal is to change the lives of horses that are currently at the doggers awaiting their fate. These horses have become "But a Memory".
We are advertising them to show you horses available for sale before they meet their demise, that is the European meat market.
Horses listed in the doggers page are currently in the dogger yards and all have a deadline, they are only available for sale for a short period of time before the doggers will destroy them.

Horses listed in the Rescue page are often on their way to the dogger yard. They may be at a dealers, or at a transitional property. We class them as rescues because they are well on their way to becoming "But a Memory" and more often than not they carry the signs of a horse that has battled through many months of their life.
Horses listed in the classifieds page are simply horses that we have been asked to advertise in order to assist their owners in finding their horse the best possible home.
No matter the source of the ad you respond to, all money is to be paid by the buyer/rescuer directly to the dogger/dealer or owner.

Late last year i had to give away one of my horses (to what i thought and hoped was going to be a great home), only to find out a few days ago the girl has gone and given him away again.
I've found some adds that she’s posted saying she was going to dog my horse. I've been trying to ring around the doggers and find out if he’s there or has come through. I'm not having much luck finding him. In case you've seen him in your travels, he is pictured on the right, can you please keep an eye out. He's a 6yr old TB and is the last horse that deserves to be at the doggers.
